Lekeitio has been working on the Centre of Maritime Heritage over the last few years, a project with which to recover, value, interpret and disseminate its patrimonial resources to recover, assess, interpret and disseminate such resources. The essence of this initiative is to recover and maintain the past, with the help of the present generations, with the objective of offering a legacy to future generations which would be equivalent to offering sustainable development.
