Summary

Zufía is a village near Estella whose customary language was Basque, as is demonstrated in various documents of the 16th century. One of these documents is a sentence pronounced against Diego de Zufía for nonfulfillment of a promise and the Basque language used is the Basque language used in southern upper Navarre
