Summary

The Archives of the Basque Government were officially begun in October 1936 and were evacuated in May 1937 together with the archives of other institutions. This documentation ended up, among other places, in France. The invasion of the Germans provokes a new exile for the archives. The archives of the Basque Delegation are held by the Germans in Paris and delivered to the Spanish Embassy. As of 1944 archives are begun in Basque Government delegations, and when such delegations disappeared, in some instances the archives were repatriated, and in other cases, they were destroyed. At the same time private libraries and archives of great importance appear
