Summary

The History of Bilbao, indissoluble and necessarily linked to its estuary (Ria) from its beginning, is an eminently maritime history. And precisely because of that close link between both realities, it would be impossible to understand and explain one of them without the other. The legacy of so many local and foreign generations of workers, of which the reality that we now know is a direct consequence, cannot be forgotten. It is precisely this passionate history that the new Maritime Museum Ria de Bilbao intends to preserve for its adequate dissemination to future generations.
