Summary

Industrial archaeology is the discipline that tries to research, analyze, register and preserve the industrial remains of the past. In the Basque Country, the Basque Association of Industrial Patrimony and Public Works was created in 1988-89 with this purpose. Industrial Archaeology encourages observation, arouses the imagination and generates creativity, it is active, stimulant and encourages a critical spirit ; this is why it has a great pedagogic value. The existing museums in the Basque Country which are related to this matter are detailed in this study
