Summary

Throughout the geography of Navarre stick dances were very abundant, but over the last century, most of them have disappeared. In the Cortes (Parliament), however, the stick dancing tradition emerged in the late nineteenth century but managed to survive up to the present to become one of the paradigmatic examples of this kind of folklore.
