Summary

We analyze the associative reality of Valencian Centers splitting of the theoretical framework that contemplates the redefinición of collective identities under the incidence of cultural globalization processes considering the case of Montevideo (Uruguay). The associationism of Valencian emigrants, works as a reproductive agent of the Valencian identity outside recreating an idealized and not conflictual identity that is favoured by Valencian public institutions as a way of legitimation of a specific vision of Valencian identity according to certain ideological parameters.
