Summary

The authors outline a working hypothesis about the domestication "in situ" of aurochs in the Cantabric Region, taking into account the biometrics of such bovines as they have appeared in Neolithic deposits. Such a hypothesis is based on the comparison with a wide range of bovines in the Metal Ages in Basque deposits on the one hand and with other European auroch deposits on the other.
