Summary

Opponents of Basque nationalism mobilize quite a rainge of representations, symbols and arguments, and develop an imagery that associates the Basque ethnicity, the past, tradition, the private sphere, specificity and nature. These associations, which refer to eth-nicity, culture and the Basque language, are intended to stigmatize and delegitimize Basque nationalism considered as synonymous to community withdrawal and secrecy.
