Summary

In the second half of the 18th century two ideological and cultural movements appear: neo-classicism and romanticism. The interrelationship between such movements contributed to the formation of the first nationalistic movements that emerged as an opposition to bureaucratic absolutism. The author introduces the biography of Zamácola, an official during the mandate of Joseph Bonaparte. He was a great defender of popular traditions and this article covers his ideas
