Summary

In the Middle Ages the Basque Country and Navarre enjoyed a higher literacy index than that of other Hispanic territories. Among other factors, the way in which families valued education and its in uence in the destiny of children had its in uence. Because the sources do not quantify the cost of education, we shall be studying the values transmitted within the families.
