Summary

The present article analyses literary production in English by the Basque Diaspora in the United States, emphasising the growing strength of this literature in the second half of the 20th century. Particular attention is paid to the vast work by Robert Laxalt and to his special contribution to the progressive social and literary visibility of Basque immigrants in North America. Also, a panoramic view is offered of the principal contributions by Basque-American authors of the last decades, like F. Bergon, M. Urza or G. Martin.
