Summary
With this reflection we intend to travel through memory and peek into the crossroads of hopes and anguish that death holds and that, deep down, are nothing more than meeting points all of us, which emerge the moment we become aware of our own end. To objectify our discourse we have followed the path that seemed the best to us, uniting diverse knowledge around another important element and source of research in our work: the three-dimensional image. More than a ritual, death is also the driving force behind the creation of a very peculiar of images, or better yet, of images / objects. In the context of our work, we study the sculptures as images of the Alto S. João and Prazeres cemeteries in Lisbon, as a reference that aims to be the sensitivity that has dominated the representation or staging of death in Portugal.
