Summary

In the Earth Summit that was part of the Conference on Environment and Development organised by the United Nations in 1992, the Agenda 21 manual was adopted as an indispensable element to attain Sustainable Development in the economic, social and environmental fields. One application of the commitment adopted then is the Agendas 21 that are currently being developed within the Autonomous Community of the Basque Country. This work explains how community participation developed, together with the results obtained.
