Summary

The blacksmitheries belonged to private individuals, without there being many cases of several facilities belonging to a sole owner. They tended to be private property which was not normally shared. Exploitation was sometimes direct (by the owners themselves), mixed (owner and lessee) or by means of leasing. This last modality seemed to be the most common form of development
