Summary

Basque homeland-diaspora institutional relations have experienced substantial quantitative and qualitative transformations. This analysis examines contemporary development of relations between the Basque Government of Euskadi and the Basque diaspora and their numerous efforts underway to promote Basque identity maintenance. The article considers legislation establishing a permanent judicial and political framework for grants and subsidies from the Basque Government to diaspora projects and the many benefits to Basque diasporic institutions and individuals.
