Summary

The work of the University of Deusto in favour of the Basque language can be split into three parts. The first is to work on the Basque language, something which this University has been doing for many years, but especially since 1974, the year in which the Basque Linguistics Department was established, which was followed two years later by the establishment of Basque Philology studies and a series of other services. The second is teaching the Basque language, for which there is the possibility to study during course hours (a table is provided with data on students who have taken part in these courses) and teaching in the Basque language, which has been somewhat more problematic
