Summary

This paper specifies the effect the European Court of Human Rights has on Spain´s internal courts, in particular, on the procedure followed by the Spanish Constitutional Court in the constituting of political parties. The procedure followed to set up political parties of the Basque Nationalist Left clearly points to the change of criteria in the Spanish Constitutional Court brought about by the judgments handed down by the European Court.
