Summary

Social inequalities have increased with respect to the economic level between countries and people. We are living in a society that is based on consumism and individualism. On the other hand, the population is ageing more and more because life expectancy has increased and because the birth rate in wealthy countries is going down. This implies an increase in social expenditure. Over these last few years, immigration has increased and with it poverty in the countries of origin of such immigrants.
