Summary

The globalisation process is impacting in a decisive way on the current state systems. States are losing power and influence both in the external and in the internal fields. The new situation is modifying in a substantial manner one of the fundamental theoretical paradigms in which the legitimacy and the power of the States has been sustained up until now, which is the principle of sovereignty. The present work tries to analyse the consequences of this both in the supra-state (European Union, world government, etc...), as in the infra-state (nationalisms, regionalisms, etc...) fields.
