Summary

The war of the Convention was very important in the subsequent relationships of Basque Country with Spain and it began an ideological division that still lasts. The two postures that were taken in Gipuzkoa against the Conventionals were that of the Parliament of Getaria and that of the Parliament of Mondragón, the first offered scarce resistance and represented the mercantile sector, while the second offered greater resistance and was related to the rural sector
