Summary

Our main audience indexes the EGM, CIES, the CCRTV Panel, ICP/Research, etc. -which are financed by the advertisers- evaluate radio audiences in a quantitative manner. There is now a certain current of international criticism -Silverstone, Morley, Katz- that studies the radio audience indexes at the destination. There are two phases: first, the elaboration of a model. 27 thorough interviews were carried out on quantitative models (CIES) (tabulation with pre-set items, obtaining "significant judgements") and secondly, radio tuning habits among university students. This phase established models among students belonging to the Basque and Navarre Public Universities, in order to prove if journalism students were activating differentiated skills.
