Summary

The heritage of education is part of the Basque culture (Law 7/1900 on Basque CulturalHeritage). The project of the Museum of Basque Schooling emerged in order to divulge the contribution of Basque schools, without forgetting that the Basque people never had their own education system, which produced the consequent confrontations and social conflicts. Among the recovered educational heritage, the photographic history of students from beginning of the twentieth century and the school material the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, based on different lists, are quite note worthy. Finally, the article also covers blackboards and school desks (etymology, function, types...).
