Summary

This article is framed within the investigation that we are carrying out on piloting textbooks in the Modern Age. In which we address the Navigation Regiments, the study plan for the training of the pilots of the Carrera de Indias that was taught in the Casa de la Contratación in Seville in the 16th century and Hydrography. What constitute the variables of the study related through the effective instrument that is the analysis of Hydrography, to establish the degree of training received by the
students of Poza while enabling us to face it with the curriculum taught at the Casa de Hiring. What finally allows us to know the study plan followed by Poza and determine its comparability with that taught by the professor of Cosmography of the Casa de Contratación de Sevilla.
