Summary

Professor Etxenike asserts that a Society of Knowledge still does not exist. What does exist is elitist groups that are impelling it. He then describes their four main characteristics. The problem of education and university; the capacity of transacting time in the Society of Kowledge. He maintains that the Basque Country can be turned into a Society of Knowledge if it knows what objectives to establish and if it knows how to use its capacities of self-organisation to articulate and put technological, social and sociological mechanisms underway.
