Summary

The pragmatic interpretation of the concept of Euskal Hiriawas used to denigrate the popular di-mension of "what is Basque" or as a metaphor of a territorial structure that is only sustained by infrastructures. As against both instrumentalizations we shall be analyzing the role of the northern abertzalismo (Basque patriotic character) to show how the confrontation between the Herria and Hiria was overcome by the Irria concept.
