Summary

When we speak of Jesus Olasagasti we always remember him as a "painter of portraits". Furthermore, Olasagasti had had a considerable protagonism in all the cultural events that had been carried out in San Sebastian in the period prior to the civil war. It was a friend of Aizpúrua, the architect, an assiduous participant in "tertulias" (social gatherings in which opinions were interchanged) and a very selfcontradictory person. Olasagasti therefore always maintained ambiguous positions.
