Summary

This article intends to approach the history of the Spanish Cervantes Academy in Vitoria, inaugurated in March 1873 and dedicated to the study and dissemination of Cervantes life and works, paying especial attention to their origin, regulation, protagonists and activities developed within the historic and cultural framework of late 19th century Vitoria.
