Summary

A public library is to possess a local collection, local resources or local information service in order to be considered a community cultural centre. In the U.S.A. and Great Britain the existence of such collections is quite old, as well as in Italy and France. In the Spanish State the Autonomies are making efforts to create such sections and departments in public libraries.
