Summary

Basque theatre has reached its professional and artistic maturity. However, it is undermined by the inconsistency of its entrepreneurial fabric. Public administration and theatre companies have to design a common framework that should be placed at the service of better-attended performances. That will allow us to concentrate greater energies in artistic creation, and will allow us not only to consolidate existing teams and companies but also to accede to the production of new initiatives that are quite impossible in the current bureaucratic and organisational complexity of the theatre world.
