Summary

The practical social research that is presented here aspires to contribute to the scientific knowledge of urban mores and life. It places its attention on the cultural analysis of the city for local, human and sustainable development. The study is concretised in a town, Zaragoza, that is capital of the Autonomous Community of Aragon, with 600.000 inhabitants, and a pilot town in Spain for the study of consumption habits and urban cultural behaviours of the Spaniards. The methodology used is comprehensive and interdisciplinary. The complete study consists of eight research projects. The most significant results of the survey carried out on a representative sample of the population of Zaragoza are presented here together with the most meaningful conclusions of the complete study.
