Summary

The study is the summary of a long field work carried out during several consecutive years about the traditional dances in Rioja area. The information presented is the conjuction of some conclusions which have been obtained from the materials collected during those years, from 1983 to 1986, and from the point of vue of choreography and musicology, essentialy. It includes some considerations about clothing, organography, the organization of the feast days and the year. A classification of dances in Rioja is included too, in relation to the organographyc caracteristics of each dance.
