The Basque Country wishes be a member of the society of knowledge, which is the product of technological advances and deep cultural and social changes. It trusts that education will perform a central function, attending to its new demands, facing the changes that affect key aspects of the educational profession and making use of the advantages of new didactic possibilities. In the new society knowledge is the basis for innovation, both in cultural and productive fields, and it requires people adequately competent in matters of knowledge and ethics.
