Summary

This text approaches the economic reasons behind emigration in Biscay and the speculation generated just before the Third Carlist War. Although the sources donot allow us to correlate them with the conflict, it is plausible that they had their influence in a negative perception of the local situation and, consequently, in th epopular dissatisfaction, a situation that Carlism attempted to take advantage of.
