Summary

The absence of projects that analyse the figure of the deputy prevost and the verification of the existence of the term .prebostao. - as a synonym thereof - in the late medieval Biskaian documentation has encouraged us to carryout a study on deputy provosts, also taking into account, other slow late medieval funds in Gipuzkoa. On the other hand, the author has centred his analysis on research of a historical and anthropologic character and in etymological dictionaries with a view to locating the prebostao variant.
