Summary

This work, which was presented at the 1993 Summer Courses held in the University of the Basque Country in San Sebastián, is a first approach to the Medieval Iconography of Saint James in the Roads though France and Gipuzkoa. Analyzed in this work are a) colourless images ; b) biblical images ; c)historical images ; d) artistic images, studyng the diferent typologies ; 1) Saint James the pilgrim on foot ; 2) Saint James the pilgrim on horseback (the knight) ; 3) Saint James the killer or Arabs and patron saint of Spain and ; e) religious images
