Summary

This paper presents the results of a research on Immigrant Population realised in the context of the "General Urban Arrangement Plan of Vigo" (January-April 2002). The methodology used is of a quantitative (analyse of official statistics)and a qualitative nature (in-depth interviews and discussion groups). The research highlights how the identity of Galicia as an emigration country determines theimmigration flows of foreign population (pull factor), as well as immigrant´s integration in the social and urban dynamic of Vigo.
