Summary

The article presents the research and cultural work that Aranzadi, compulsory figure of reference in the history of Basque and Spanish Anthropology, did in Barcelona. In spite of his strong ties to his birthplace, Aranzadi stayed in Barcelona, for professional reasons, from 1899 to 1945, the year of his death. During this time he carried out some outstanding scientific work which had important repercussions in intellectual circles of the time
