Artisan-style fishing in the Adour, with at least a thousand-year history behind it in an organised manner, has experienced various mutations through the ages. The 20th century has witnessed how such changes (technological, regulatory, social, ecological, economic and cultural) have become more frequent. To imagine the future of this type of fishing, within the socio-economic and environmental framework of the Adour, is quite a challenge. Are there new mutations in perspective?
