Summary

The "Comète" network was one of the clandestine networks for evacuating fugitives from German occupied Europe. It was the most famous and effective of the 2nd World War. Its mission was to gather up the allied pilots shot down during their incursions into Germany and, supported by the services of the British embassy in Madrid, evacuate them in the direction of Gibraltar after crossing the Basque-Navarrese frontier.
