Summary

In another article, mention is made of the fact that, in 1719, a father requested a permit to the town council to vaccinate his children against smallpox and in another subsequent article the author states that the society "Amigos del País" (Friends of the Country) had already worked on that vaccine (1768-1772). This it is not possible because the first experimental vaccination took place in 1796. What was studied then was "smallpox inoculation" which was a man-to-man inoculation without attenuating the virus in cows ; this was very dangerous because sometimes the virus was not attenuated in the other person
