Summary

Festivities canalise formally religious expressions, ranging from popular and institutional festivities to a profane linking with politics and a ritual sacralization. Even when subjected to the change derived from the secularisation and glocalization processes, they always expressed collective identities. With the revitalisation of festivities, there are most profane forms are enhanced together with the protagonists of secular groups in the festive rituals at the expense of liturgical expressions.
