Summary
Although the theme of Basque diaspora is well explored in history, literature, anthropology or linguistics, a global and problematized analyse is missing in the field of arts. Nevertheless creation, as material expression of the evolutions of society, provides a new lecture of this aspect of Basque Country’s history. It highlights complex phenomenons, which can be sometimes in contradiction, from the identity affirmation, that iconography and discourse express, until the total assimilation in the host society and the emancipation from the original culture.
