The author studies the biography of Jean-Baptiste Istilart, a Basque that emigrated to Argentina when we was 11 years old without any material or intellectual baggage. When he died in 1934 in Tres Arroyos he led a factory of a 22.500 square meter agricultural machinery factory with 856 workers.
