Summary

The maritime environment has always been an auspicious place for showing solidarity. The coastal parishes of the province of Lapurdi, the economy of which greatly depended on fishing, was not an exception to this rule. Most of this solidarity was based on local mores. Contracts authenticated in front of notaries and minutes written during certain litigations allow us to present these demonstrations of solidarity.
