Summary

During the last Carlist War, the municipality of Oiartzun was home to two forts: Urkabe and Arkale, both of which were part of the line of fortifications constructed by the liberal forces between San Sebastian and Oiartzun. This article aims to explore the structure of these fortifications and provides graphical material developed from a study of texts and maps from the period and a visual inspection of the remains of the sites.
