Summary
The transcendence of territorial policies of the European Union is indisputable; their effects on the convergence achieved by income level as a criterion in the State and Region, in our case Autonomous Communities, have been very positive. However, when results are analysed in sub-regional units and other indicators or variables are considered, significant socio-territorial imbalances and inequalities are detected, with the depopulation of inland Spain being paradigmatic. Our main objective is to make the main problems visible and to determine future changes.
