Madeleine de Jauréguiberry set up with the name of Begiraleak, ("The ; Guardians" of the faith, of the language and of the traditions), the first abertzale women´s movement in Iparralde in the nineteen thirties on the model of ; Emakume Abertzale Batza. She always expressed a great spirit of independence ; and, therefore, always was astonishingly modern. This movement had the same ; spirit as the "eskualerrista" movement and the monthly magazine Aintzina, both ; set up in the same era by father Lafitte.
