Summary

In this work it is our intention to get to know the characteristics of acute myocardial infarction in Gipuzkoa, by means of the study of the characteristics of patients interned in the Intensive Care Unit in the Hospital of San Sebastian. Its risk, clinical, treatment and evolution factors have been brought together in this work, and research has been made on the differences between men and women. Women who have suffered acute myocardial infarction are older than the men who have gone through the same experience, and amongst the women the cardiac insufficiency and mortality rates are higher.
