Summary

Michel Labèguerie (1921-80) was president of the Eskualtzaleen Biltzarra association for twenty years, until he died toward 1960. After Louis Dassance, he tried to reinvigorate and renew, to a certain extent, what was the most ancient association, and for a long time the only association, in the continental Basque Countr y. On General Meeting days up to 700 to 800 people could gather for lunch. During the time in which Labeguerie was president, many other associations emerged, in the theatre, bersolarism, dance and song fields, delimiting the work that Euskaltzaleen Biltzarra had been doing until then.
